About Us

In 2003 Claire Evelyn launched a Yahoo! Group for the suporters of TRH The Earl and Countess of Wessex. The groups soon attracted the attention of Thea Jonnasson and Elsie Marek who divulge in anything related to the British Monarchy. The three of us decided that the Wessex's deserved a site for their own, and with the increased attention on the couple after the annoucement of the Countess of Wessex's pregnacy with Lady Louise, the time seemed right.

The group decided that the site would "report on the news and work of TRH the Earl and Countess of Wessex and their possible children. The site would concentrate on their "charitable functions and role of representative of HM the Queen, the British public and the people of the Commonwealth." The purpose thus was to draw attention to their roles as patrons, trustees, presidents and as members of various bodies throughout the Commonwealth.

It was also decided that the site would not report or use gossip or tabloid photos and material. As they are obtained by dubious means and methods. It was decided that such material would also not be included in the News section, unless the reports were in the interest of our readers. Efforts would then be made to balance commentary and accompanying statements explaining its inclusion.

Thus it was that House Wessex was launched on 1st December 2003. Originally the site was planned to be online the same day as the birth of Lady Louise, but she surprised us all. House Wessex was orginally housed at Angelfire, but we have sinced moved to 100 Free Space.

Thea is a graduate of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. She currently works as a private assistant in Wales. Theo's main interest in the royal family is in Diana, Princess of Wales. She is also interested in astrology and numerology, the esoteric section of this site is testimont in that.

• Elsie Marek

Elsie works in the tourism industry in the United Kingdom. She admits that she is a big fan of Prince Edward from a very early age. She is also interested in medieval history and Star Wars.

• Claire Evelyn

Claire used to work in media, but now is completing her studies. Her other interests include music and reading fantasy fiction and thrillers.
